Former Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra on Tuesday filed three complaints with the Central Bureau of Investigation seeking a probe against his colleagues in the Delhi government.
As earlier disclosed by Mr. Mishra, the first complaint is against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on his charge that he was an eye-witness to Rs.2 crore exchanging hands. Mr. Jain has threatened to sue Mr. Mishra on the allegations.
The second complaint alleges that Mr. Jain helped some close relatives of Mr. Kejriwal in some land deal, while the third seeks investigations into the foreign trips made by AAP leaders in the past two years.
“The CBI is empowered to directly take cognisance of corruption cases filed by private persons, without any reference from the government or the High Court, as it happens in the cases of bribery allegations,” said an agency official.
On Monday, Mr. Mishra had lodged a complaint with the Delhi government’s Vigilance wing, which comes under the Lieutenant-Governor, demanding investigation into the “Tanker Scam”.
