Law and order, traffic, health, cleanliness, sanitation, and repair and beautification of roads were discussed with various stakeholders, including the chief secretary of Delhi, vice-chairman (DDA), joint secretary (Union Ministry of Health), Commissioner of Police, and the representatives of the Delhi International Airport Limited .

“The emphasis of the L-G was on the security arrangements for foreign delegates. He said he was apprised that the Delhi Police had already made arrangements beginning August 8, which were further enhanced on October 6,” said a senior government official.

According to the police, each hotel where delegates connected to the summit will be lodged, will be under the charge of a DCP-rank officer while the Indira Gandhi International Stadium has been divided into eight zones with each under the supervision of a DCP. Nodal officers for all the venues have also been earmarked.

One DCP shall be in-charge of contingency arrangements, including mass evacuation and aerial surveillance, while hit teams and sniper teams from the National Security Guard are being deployed.

“Repair and beautification of roads, particularly in the New Delhi area, pruning of trees, proper street lighting, and view cutters in the vicinity of dhalaos were directed to be taken up immediately, ” the official said.
