IT institute calls for M.Tech applications

Last date June 2, interview on June 16

The Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi, has initiated the application process for M..Tech programmes in Computational Biology (CB), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE). The last date for application for the courses in June 2.

Shortlisted candidates

The institute said the names of shortlisted candidates would be announced on June 3, and a test and interview would be held at the institute’s campus on June 16.

To apply for any of these M.Tech courses, candidate must a have a degree from a recognised institute in B.Tech/BE, MCA, B.Pharm, MBBS or MSc. (physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, biochemistry, microbiology, biotechnology, biophysics, bioinformatics, biomedical sciences).

General category students must have a CGPA of at least 6.5 of 10 or 65% in the qualifying exam and 60% in all previous degrees as well as in 10+2. Applicants from the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Persons with Disabilities and Children/ Widows of eligible Armed forces personnel categories must have a CGPA of at least 6.0 of 10 and/or must at least have 55% in one previous degree as well as in 10+2

The institute said while valid GATE/GPAT/CSIR-NET was not mandatory, applicants having any one of these would be given additional weightage.

Students applying to the institute for M.Tech in CSE are required to take part in ‘CodeChef’ a competition designed to test an applicant’s skill. The institute said this is an in-house online test. Shortlisted applicants need to take the test from home and come with the printout of the codes on the day of the written test.
