IITF to focus on women entrepreneurs

Women entrepreneurs will be in focus at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) that will be inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee at Pragati Maidan here on Friday.

Over 6,000 exhibitors will set up stalls at the trade exhibition that not only facilitates business to business opportunities but throw its doors open to consumers to have a look at the latest trends across the world.

South Africa has been accorded the partner country status while Thailand is the focus country. Delhi will be focus State at the exhibition and plans to not only showcase initiatives taken by women in the State but also felicitate women who have made a difference in their field.

Companies from the private and public sector, States, Union Territories as well as central government ministries will have stalls.

Apart from providing an opportunity for the business community to develop contacts with international players, the fair will be committed to the new mantra ‘Make in India’ for further extending India’s global appeal for investment in diverse sectors.

The fair will also come alive with a host of cultural activities that will be organised by every State. There will be music, dance programmes, gazal nights, qawaali nights, street plays and puppet shows.

The festival will be open only for business visitors from November 14-19 and for general public till November 27 between 9-30 a.m. and 7-30 p.m. The entry to the fair will close at 5-30 p.m.

Tickets

Ticket counters will be open at Gates 1 and 2 at the venue and will be open on weekdays between 9-30 a.m. and 4 p.m. and on Sunday/ holidays from 9-30 a.m. and 2 p.m. In order to ensure safety and proper crowd management the counters may stop selling tickets before the scheduled timing.

Tickets will also be for available for general public at all Customer Care centres at Metro Stations except Airport Express Line, where tickets will be available only at Dhaula Kuan. Tickets for business days will be available only from select stations. Tickets can only be purchased for that particular day.

Tickets are priced at Rs.400 per day for business visitors and Rs.1,500 for multiple entry. On general days tickets for adults will be priced at Rs.50 on weekdays and Rs.80 on weekends. For children on weekdays it will be Rs.30 and Rs.50 over the weekend.

As the Delhi Metro is expecting a huge rush at the Pragati Maidan station it will be operating 20 token/smart card counters from within the IITF at Gate No. 10 from 1-00 p.m. to 9-00 p.m. on all general days. The frequency of trains will also be increased on the Blue Line.

To guide visitors around the fair a mobile app has be launched for Android users that gives information about stalls, exhibitors and will act like a search engine.
