The Delhi government on Friday issued a show cause notice to Malik Nursing Home, which allegedly refused to treat 15-year-old Rajat Menon, who later died.

The boy was first taken to the private clinic in Mayur Vihar, but was refused treatment. He was then taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The schoolboy was seriously injured during a fight.

Health dept. steps in

The Health Department has given a month’s time to the owner of the clinic to reply.

As per the directives of the department, hospitals must provide immediate medical care without any delay.

Cameras help

The security cameras at the hospital that turned Menon away recorded the student being brought on a scooter.

Another teen — allegedly Menon’s attacker — can be seen lifting his body to take it inside.

After the hospital staff allegedly said it could not admit Menon, he was taken on the same two-wheeler to LBS, where he was declared dead.
