A record number of applications notwithstanding, many Delhi University colleges were not able to close their admission gates in time and within the fifth list like they usually do.
The university has been forced to come out with a sixth list and has even announced that a seventh list is in the offing.
The sixth list, which was announced on Saturday night, showed several popular colleges having seats open in many of their coveted courses. Commerce is still open at Hans Raj College with a cut-off in the range of 96.5 to 98 per cent, at Gargi College with 93.5 per cent, Kamala Nehru with 92.75 to 97.5 per cent and Ramjas College with 95.75 to 97.75 per cent.
Ram Lal Anand College, with the now-famed 100 per cent cut-off in B. Tech Computer Science, has not been able to fill its seats in this course despite climbing down to a cut-off ranging from 93.5 to 98.5 per cent.
This popular course is still open at PGDAV College with an ask of 92 to 97 per cent while Hans Raj College has its B. Tech Electronics course open for 96 per cent.
Some prominent colleges, whose seats were full within the third list, have reopened admissions owing to withdrawals. Miranda House, for example, has reopened admissions to its Economics, Philosophy and Sociology courses.
Ramjas College has its most coveted courses such as Commerce, English and Political Science still open with significantly reduced cut-offs.
