A four-year-old girl was killed after she was hit by a luxury car on Old Delhi-Gurugram Road here on Sunday afternoon. The erring driver has been arrested.
According to the police, the child was playing on the roadside when the speeding vehicle hit her from behind near Atul Kataria Chowk around 3 p.m. The girl fell on the road and banged her head against the pavement.
Taken to hospital
The driver, identified as Sunil Kumar, took her to the Civil Hospital with the help of onlookers. However, the child succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
The hospital authorities informed the police and a case was registered against the driver for causing death due to rash and negligent driving. Mr. Kumar, who belongs to Mahendergarh district, was arrested.
The victim lived in a jhuggi-jhopri cluster near the chowk.
