In yet another case of sexual assault on a student, a nine-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a security guard of her school at Safdarjung Enclave in South Delhi. The incident took place on Saturday afternoon when the victim was returning home after attending her school.

A case was registered in this regard on Monday following which the guard was arrested.

“On Saturday afternoon, the girl was heading home after her classes when she was picked up by the guard, who told her that he would drop her to her van. As she knew the guard, she did not protest but when he started touching her inappropriately she got scared and started crying. The guard then left her and she came back home. At home, she narrated the incident to her parents,” said a police officer.

As the school was over for the day and the next day was Sunday, her parents met the school authorities on Monday to apprise them of the incident and then informed the police. “A case of molestation was registered on Monday at the Safdarjung Enclave police station and the accused was arrested soon after. The name of the accused and the school is not being revealed as it could reveal the identity of the victim,” the officer said.

The incident has come a week after a seven-year-old girl of a prominent school in Outer Delhi’s Rohini accused her music teacher of molesting her.
