The Congress-led UPA Government’s move of appointing former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit as Governor of Kerala has come in for severe criticism from the Aam Aadmi Party, which termed it an attempt to “shield” her in the cases which were registered by its government last month.

Before resigning, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had instituted criminal cases against Ms. Dikshit, accusing her of corruption.

AAP leader Colonel Devinder Sherawat said: “Is it a ploy for providing constitutional immunity from the financial misappropriation cases in the High Court?”
