Golf contest with a difference

Organised by Special Olympics Bharat, a six-day Golf National Coaching Camp-cum-Championship 2017 ended here on Thursday.

This championship was also the selection trial for probables for the World Games 2019 at Abu Dhabi.

The tournament witnessed a turnout of 14 champion golfers from all over the country who commenced playing Level 1 on November 13, 2017.

The qualifying participants contested for level 2 and level 3 on November 15 that culminated in the final (level 5) held on Thursday.

Formidable force

Ranveer Singh Saini won the championship by beating his rivals in over four days of competition. Ranveer finished the final round with a lead of 17 strokes, once again emerging as a formidable force, defeating his challengers by winning four gold medals in all four competitions.

Meanwhile, Kushagra Gaur from Gurugram bagged three bronze and one silver and Ankush Saha from Bangalore bagged three silver and one bronze in the four competitions.
