The Crime Branch on Wednesday interrogated three stepbrothers of self-styled god-man Daati Maharaj in connection with the rape charges levelled against him by a former woman disciple.

A senior police officer said that Ashok, Arjun and Anil were quizzed for over seven hours at the Crime Branch’s office in Chanakyapuri. “They are also accused in the case. They came in around 2 p.m. and were let off around 9 p.m.,” the officer said.

The police said that the main accused’s father had married thrice. The brothers are with his third wife while Daati was his first born with the first wife, said the police. “All four are accused of raping the 25-year-old woman,” the officer said.

The victim alleged that she was raped by Daati and his disciples on several occasions at his ashrams in Delhi and Rajasthan when she was his disciple for nearly 10 years.

She left about two years ago. She confided in her parents about the abuse and approached the police recently.
