The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday launched a free Wi-Fi facility across all 50 stations on the Blue Line for passengers to access high-speed Internet during the commute.

Poor connectivity

The 50-km-long Blue Line, which connects Noida City Centre and east Delhi’s Vaishali to Dwarka sub-city, is the largest operational corridor of the DMRC, and includes both elevated and underground stations, including some with poor mobile Internet connectivity.

“Commuters will be able to avail the Wi-Fi service by logging into ‘Oui DMRC Free Wi-fi’ and access e-mails, Facebook, Google and video chat, as well as enjoy live streaming of cricket and football matches,” the DMRC said in a statement.

The move comes nearly 10 months after free Wi-Fi was rolled out on the premium Airport Express Line stations. The same will be made available at all stations of the Yellow Line and inside the trains of Airport Line.

The DMRC has tied up with Techno Sat Comm to provide the facility. The same consortium provides the facility at the Airport Line, the statement said.
