Four members of a family, including a seven-year-old boy, were killed in a fire that broke out in a DDA flat in North-East Delhi's Dilshad Colony during Tuesday's wee hours.

The flat was also being used as a dry cleaner's shop and the presence of clothes inside possibly led to the quick spread of the flames, suspected a senior fire officer.

The blaze appears to have been triggered by short-circuit, but police are still in the process of ascertaining the exact cause.

There were six persons sleeping inside the house when the fire broke out. While neighbours managed to rescue two of them, the others could not make it. The survivors are undergoing treatment at GTB Hospital nearby.

The deceased have been identified as 55-year-old Pradeep Jaiswal, his son Rajan, daughter-in-law Anuja and the couple's son Anshul.
