Former AAP legislator fails to deliver for BJP

The “image issue” of a rebel MLA who took a “moral stand” against “corruption within the Delhi government” to switch sides, leading to the Bawana by-poll, is now being blamed for the BJP’s defeat.

Non-performance as MLA

Ved Prakash's alleged non-performance while in power as the rural constituency's sitting MLA is said to have triggered “much anti-incumbency” against him, which switching from a nascent political formation to one of the biggest political organisations in the country could not wash away.

‘Certain changes’

“Whatever decision is taken, or not taken, will be sole prerogative of the party's national leadership. It is still early to say what will happen but safe to assume that this defeat is certainly going to usher in changes in the organisational structure,” said a party source.
