Elections to the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) will be held on September 12, the varsity announced on Monday.

While elections at the morning colleges will be conducted between 8.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m., the evening colleges will organise their polls from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Code of conduct

The university has, however, not announced the dates for counting of the votes and the declaration of results.

All nomination papers can be downloaded from the university portal.

The DUSU code of conduct and the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations that are to be followed in regard to the polls have also been released on the website.

Final list on Sept 6

The last date for filing of nomination papers is September 4, while that of withdrawal of nominations is September 6.

The final list of candidates will be published on September 6.

Last year, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) had won three out of the four seats, while the National Students’ Union of India had bagged one seat.

Campaigning begins

Meanwhile, campaigning for the elections has already started at several colleges.

Last week, the NSUI had released its manifesto.

The party said it had started its campaign early this year as it wanted to fight the elections based on “real issues rather than abstractions like national versus anti-national”.

Several apolitical volunteer groups on North Campus have launched a campaign to ensure that no paper is wasted during the elections.
