Angry members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad have vowed to carry out a series of protests against the Delhi University administration for refusing to open up the students’ union office. It was sealed by the university administration after two incidents of vandalism and assault by a DUSU member was reported from the North Campus.

“The attitude and action of the university officials is responsible for such harsh behaviour by students because the university has closed all modes of dialogue and discussions on students’ grievances. It is shameful that the university has sealed the DUSU office immediately after this incident as if all the office-bearers are involved in such acts. These tactics of the DU administration to suppress the students’ movement will be dealt with properly by the students,” said DUSU president Aman Awana.

He added: “ Undemocratic actions of the DU officials in the past are the real reasons behind such incidents. The DUSU and the ABVP will not tolerate dictatorship of the DU administration and we will continue our struggle against the four-year undergraduate programme. We will soon announce our future protests against FYUP.”
