DTC buses collide; 19 injured

Nineteen people were injured when two Delhi Transport Corporation buses collided at Raja Garden here on Saturday. The victims were discharged after treatment.

The incident took place around 10 a.m. when a high chassis DTC bus plying on route 568 — from Mangolpuri to Safdarjung — hit a low-floor DTC bus plying on route 442 — from Azadpur to Nehru Place.

The passengers travelling in the old bus sustained injuries. They were taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, from where they were discharged after first aid.

“They sustained minor injuries,” said a police officer.

Case registered

A case of causing injury due to rash and negligent driving has been registered. The erring driver, Jagmendra, has been arrested. He was later released on bail.
