The Delhi State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation on Friday conducted a draw of lots and allotted 127 industrial plots and flatted factories to waitlisted applicants under the scheme of relocation of industries. After this allotment, only 135 applicants in the 150 square metres plot category remain to be allotted under the scheme.
In the draw held at the DSIIDC Business Centre, 53 plots measuring 100 square metres, 64 plots measuring 150 square metres, six plots measuring 250 square metres and two flatted factories measuring 27.75 square metres each were allotted.
A DSIIDC spokesperson said that with these allotments, the number of plots allotted by the Corporation so far under the relocation scheme has gone up to 22,472.
Even more importantly, he pointed out that with this allotment, the waiting list in the 100 square metres, 200 square metres, 250 square metres and flatted factory categories has been completely exhausted and now only 135 applicants in the 150 square metres category remain.
“The Corporation will endeavour to identify plots and make allotments to the remaining applicants also at the earliest possible,’’ the spokesperson said.
The allotted plots are located in the industrial estates developed by DSIIDC at Bawana and Bawana-II (Bhorgarh) while the flatted factories are in Jhilmil Industrial complex.
As for the draw, DSIIDC said it was a computerised one and was held in the presence of about 100 applicants, representatives of industrial associations, and a panel of judges comprising senior officers of the Delhi Government and an information technology expert.
The relocation scheme was launched by the Delhi Government in 1996 with the approval of the Supreme Court to enable the industrial units to relocate from residential/non-conforming areas to approved industrial areas for improving the quality of life and de-congesting the residential areas.
