At a national conference organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) managing director Mangu Singh spoke on the importance of workplace safety, especially in the construction sector.

Speaking about ensuring safety of the thousands of workers engaged in the multiple metro construction sites, Mr. Singh said it was essential to implement the use of appropriate and modern methods of technology.

“In most cases, the lowest category of people is affected by these accidents as they are in direct contact with the equipment. It is for those at the higher levels to have a legal and moral responsibility towards implementing adequate safety measures” said Mr. Singh.
