Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday filed his nominations from New Delhi constituency for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
Mr. Kejriwal had to reschedule the exercise as he could not reach Jamnagar House on time to file his papers on Tuesday.
Mr. Kejriwal on Wednesday was accompanied by a few supportersfrom his residence in Ghaziabad to the centre.
After filing nominations for contesting from the New Delhi Assembly seat, where he defeated former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in 2013, Mr. Kejriwal said the people of Delhi had made up their mind about voting his Aam Aadmi Party to power.
“Last time, the people of Delhi voted for us in large numbers. I am sure they will shower their love and blessings on our party yet again and make us win with a comfortable majority,” he said.
Responding to journalists’ question about BJP’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi’s announcements on keeping some portfolios with her if she is appointed, he said Ms. Bedi should at least wait till the results are announced.
He also said that the media was obsessed with Ms. Bedi.
When asked who was a bigger challenger between veteran Kiran Walia (Congress) and debutant Nupur Sharma (BJP), the AAP convenor said that was something for the people of Delhi to decide.
