In a show of solidarity with Pakistan following an appeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after Tuesday’s terror attack in Peshawar, schools here observed two-minute silence on Wednesday.

Special assemblies were held in some schools, where children talked about maintaining peace and harmony. Some schools also wrote to Mr. Modi and Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

“We held a special morning assembly, during which we observed two minutes of silence to pay homage to the victims of terrorism. Some of our students have penned poems, through which they have expressed their emotions about the gruesome incident. Our students have written to the Prime Ministers. In a letter to Mr. Sharif, they have expressed solidarity with the people. The letter to Mr. Modi mentions what they expect from the government,” said Springdales Principal Ameeta Wattal.

Students of Sadhu Vaswani International School For Girls formed a human chain to condemn the attack. A special prayer meeting was held at the Air Force School in Delhi Cantonment along with a mock security drill. Students at Tagore International school organised a signature campaign to show solidarity with Pakistan.
