Metro commuters in the national capital had a difficult time today as the DMRC suspended services on a small stretch in Dwarka for two hours due to signalling and integration testing on the line.
Services between Dwarka to Dwarka Sec-9 stations were suspended between 12.45 PM to 2.45 PM without any prior announcement causing inconvenience to the passengers travelling beyond Dwarka station.
Passengers complained that they came to know that services will not be available between the two stations only after boarding the trains.
Deepti, a journalist, who usually takes a train from Dwarka Sec-9 to Central Secretariat, said she came to know about the suspension in services only after coming to the station.
“There was no announcement regarding this yesterday. This is not fair. Many people were shocked to hear that trains will not run till 2.45 PM,” she said.
Several passengers were stranded at the Dwarka metro station not knowing how to reach their destinations.
However, services between Dwarka and Noida City Centre were normal.
DMRC officials said the services were not available between the two stations due to signalling and integration testing on the stretch.
The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety R K Kardam is inspecting the small stretch of Dwarka Sec-9 to Dwarka Sec-21 for his mandatory clearance.
