Delhi BJP seeks regularisation of unauthorised colonies

Ahead of elections in the Capital, the State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded that the Centre regularise unauthorised colonies on an as is where is basis. Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay on Saturday met Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu and submitted a memorandum that also sought Rs. 500 crore for the civic bodies to carry out sanitation work.

Mr. Upadhyay has also demanded that the Delhi Development Authority, Delhi government, and the Municipal Corporations pass orders for providing community services to all the unauthorised colonies on the basis of the recommendations of the MPs of Delhi. The Central government should intervene and ensure supply of Yamuna water from Haryana to Delhi through the Munak Canal, the memorandum added.
