The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has helped rescue a 15-year-old girl from Ambedkar Nagar.

The commission had received a complaint about the minor being sexually abused by her mother’s live-in partner.

The DCW officials said that the girl had gone to a friend’s house a few days, but refused to return.

Accused arrested

After much insistence, the girl told her mother’s friend about the sexual abuse she was subjected to. “The woman then called the 181 helpline, after which a team swung into action and rescued the girl. An FIR has been filed in the case and the accused been arrested,” said a statement issued by the commission.
