Delhi Court orders further probe into a rape case

December 11, 2014 08:10 am | Updated December 12, 2014 08:16 am IST - NEW DELHI:

A Delhi court has ordered further investigation into an incestuous rape case. The court rejected the charge sheet of the case, stating that the probe into the case has been conducted “in a casual and irresponsible manner”.

While urging the court to punish the accused on the basis of the investigation report already filed by the police, the public prosecutor in the case also accepted the court’s finding on the quality of the investigation.

The court directed the Delhi Police Commissioner to constitute a team of officers under an Assistant Commissioner of Police to further probe the case and submit the further report within a period of two months.

“The Commissioner of Police is further directed to take appropriate suitable disciplinary action against the erring police officials/officers as he deems fit under intimation to this Court,” Additional Sessions Judge Pawan Kumar Jain further said in his order.
