Najafgarh Sub-Division in South West Delhi is all set to become the first area in Delhi to have fully computerised land records by the end of March 2013.
The area was chosen for the pilot project called the Delhi Land Records Computerisation Program under which Land Records Information System programme is being used to allow basic data entry of all the plots and ownerships, field books, mutation queries, reports and details of proceedings under various important sections of Delhi Land Reform Act.
In Najafgarh Sub-Division land record computerisation has been completed in respect of Kharkhari Nahar village where computerised Khatauni is being issued.
The data entry has been completed and verification is on in respect of Khera Dabar, Samaspur Khalsa, Surakhpur, Qazipur, Sherpur and Surhera. The computerisation work has now also been taken up in Kapashera Sub Division.
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said on Wednesday that with proper computerisation of land records in Delhi, the Government would be able to properly plan developmental works in rural Delhi, undertake infrastructural and environmental development, and integrate computerised land records with the Sub Registrar offices to initiate simultaneous and automatic mutation process.
Stating that Delhi Government was committed to computerise land records in order to contain the cases of litigation, social conflicts, disputes over land, corruption in issuance of land related copies of ‘Khatauni’, ‘Fard’ and mutations and to ensure tamper-proof land records, she said it was now implementing a pilot project based on Indraprasth Bhulekh software developed by the National Informatics Centre in this regard. The system also allows for continuous updating of records.
