Students are back in college at Delhi University after the first semester of the new academic year began on Wednesday, but the admission process is still on.

Doing away with the format of releasing multiple cut-off lists, the University had decided to stop after releasing the fifth cut-off list, for which admissions closed on Friday. Going forward, the admission process will now be in the hands of individual colleges. Colleges are expected to release the list of vacant seats by 4 p.m. on Saturday.

According to the admission procedure laid down by DU this year, if seats in colleges remain vacant after the fifth cut-off list, then individual colleges will notify the status of vacant seats (course-wise and category-wise) on the university portal as well as on their website and the college notice board.

Only those candidates who had registered earlier on the undergraduate admission portal will be eligible for these admissions. The candidate is required to apply online through the undergraduate admission portal once again and choose the course/college where seats are vacant. The application of such candidates will be received online only for three days, after which the college will prepare a merit list of all the candidates who have applied in the college online with their names, online registration number and marks.

The admission of candidates whose names appear in the merit list prepared by the college for each course will take place over the next two days. If seats still remain vacant, the colleges will come out with a new list.
