Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday reviewed the implementation of various welfare schemes for Delhiites belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Castes and minorities communities, and instructed officials to address the hurdles.

Helpline

For the scholarship scheme for SC and ST students, Mr. Kejriwal asked officials to set up a helpline and call centre where applicants and beneficiaries can have their problems addressed.

72 hours

The Chief Minister said the helpline number should be given to the students so they can lodge their complaints, which should be resolved within 72 hours.

Referring to the delay in disbursing the scholarships last year, Mr. Kejriwal said the delay should not happen again.

At the review meeting attended by Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam, Mr. Kejriwal was informed about the implementation of various schemes, including the Delhi Swarojgar Yojana, which gives loans to SC, ST, OBC and minority applicants so they can start their own businesses.

‘Revive schemes’

According to a statement, Mr. Kejriwal said most of these schemes had been “dead for years now” and should be revived.
