A gentle breeze and a cloudy sky on Monday brought down the temperature by three notches, giving Delhiites the much needed relief from the heat wave conditions.
Also, there was a light drizzle and a dust storm in some parts of the city.
The maximum temperature on Tuesday settled at 40.3 degrees Celsius that is on a par with the normal temperature for this time of the year. The minimum temperature, however, continued to be three degrees above normal at 30.3 degrees. The humidity levels also came down and oscillated between 41 per cent and 66 per cent.
Forecast
While Palam continued to be the hottest place in the city with a maximum of 43.3 degrees, weather stations at Lodhi Road, Faridabad, Pusa and Narela recorded temperatures below the 40-degree mark.
The weatherman has forecast a slight fall in temperatures in the coming days with temperatures on Tuesday likely to hover around 28 degrees and 39 degrees.
The forecast reads: “Partly cloudy sky with dust storms, thunder storms likely towards the afternoon, evening for Tuesday.”
