The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday claimed to have seized four hard-disks and three laptops allegedly belonging to Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, from the residence of Delhi Medical Council president Arun Gupta.

The agency said it received information about the laptops and the hard-disks from Delhi Dental Council Registrar Rishi Raj, who has been arrested on graft charges.

During searches

When a CBI team searched Mr. Gupta’s premises, they allegedly seized the items, which have been sent for forensic analysis.

The CBI had earlier claimed to have seized property documents of Mr. Jain and other papers related to him, his wife and the companies in which he was earlier a director, from the possession of Dr. Raj.

However, the Aam Aadmi Party accused the CBI of deliberately trying to frame Mr. Jain and said the Minister had already submitted the documents in question to the agency in connection with another probe.

The Delhi government also refuted the charges.

Dr. Raj was arrested along with the Dental Council’s lawyer Pradeep Sharma for allegedly receiving a bribe of ₹4.7 lakh from a doctor to help him get a favourable ruling. They were demanding ₹1.1 crore from the complainant for giving him relief in complaints filed by a patient.
