Mobile network operator Vodafone has said that its investment of Rs.1,000 crore to improve network has helped cut call drops by around 40 per cent in Delhi-NCR.

“As per our internal estimates, call drops on our network have reduced by 40 per cent,” said Apoorva Mehrotra, Vodafone India’s Business Head for Delhi-NCR.

The operator, which has over 1 crore subscribers in the region, also said it will expand its 4G network to cover the entire National Capital Region in the next six to eight weeks. The company’s 4G services are currently not available in East Delhi, Noida and Faridabad areas.

The company has added about 3,200 mobile sites over the past eight to ten months, taking its total tower network to more than 15,000 sites in Delhi-NCR.

Mr. Mehrotra added, “We will provide 4G coverage across Delhi-NCR in six to eight weeks. Customers can avail the service at 3G rates. On the Vodafone network, we will deliver download speed of 8-10 megabit (MB) per second.”
