BJP, Cong slams U-turn

March 20, 2015 12:00 am | Updated April 02, 2016 11:02 am IST - NEW DELHI:

The DJB’s decision was flayed by the Opposition parties, with both the Congress and the BJP accusing the AAP of taking a ‘U-turn’ on its poll promises.

Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said that the AAP Government was playing with the sentiments of the people. Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken, said the Kejriwal Government had betrayed the trust of the people.

Responding to the charges, the Government spokesperson Nagendar Sharma said: “This is a deliberate attempt by parties that have been rendered irrelevant by the people of Delhi to deflect from the issue. The promise was of providing 20,000 litres of free water to all households with metered connections, which we are doing.”
