More than 100 Passengers of a Delhi bound British Airways flight had a harrowing time on Friday after the aircraft developed a technical snag and had to be diverted to Frankfurt airport.

The British Airways flight (BA 143) took off from London at 10.15 a.m. and was scheduled to land at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 11.20 p.m.

“All the passengers, were taken to a terminal that is not serviced and we are sitting in front of Exit Gate D-51,” said Dr. Syed Zafar Mahmood, President of the Zakat Foundation of India, adding, there is no announcement about the next flight, no water, no food and no facility to charge mobile phones.

The British Airways claimed that they ‘are looking after customers while our highly trained engineers check the aircraft’.

“We are doing all that we can to help customers, and we will fly them back to London as soon as possible to re-start their journey to India,” said a spokesperson of the airline.
