In the third such incident reported in two days, a 21-year-old man from Manipur was found dead under mysterious circumstances outside his rented house in Munirka on Thursday evening.
The victim, Thangsonalian, was working in a private company at South Delhi’s R.K. Puram area and was also pursuing a stenography course.
According to the police, the death appeared to be accidental. A police officer said the victim seemed to have slipped on the stairs and died.
The victim’s brother Kim said Thangsonalian had gone to Ambedkar Stadium to watch a football match and returned home around 11-30 p.m. Kim did not go for the match.
A police officer said a few minutes later he was found lying on the staircase of the ground floor. Neighbours who noticed him lying also informed the police and a team reached the spot and rushed him to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where he was as declared brought dead.
Victim was under the influence of alcoholDuring examination at the hospital the police was informed that the victim was under the influence of alcohol.
The police are now waiting for the autopsy report to ascertain this.
Thangsonalian sustained injuries on his head. The police are now questioning his friends with whom he had gone to see the match.
Ph.D. scholar deathMeanwhile, the police are still groping in the dark for clues to the murder of a 32-year-old research scholar whose body was found with the throat slit at his residence in Kotla Mubarakpur on Wednesday. “We are waiting for the post-mortem and forensic report,” said a police officer.
