An Assistant Commissioner of Police posted in the third battalion of the Delhi Police and a wrestler have been accused of assaulting the staff of a hotel under the influence of alcohol on Friday. It happened following an argument after the latter’s demand for cooking his own food was turned down by the management. Prabhjot, the owner of Hotel Royal Mirage at Rishi Nagar in Rani Bagh in North-West Delhi, said that two days ago Sanjay had checked-in at the hotel and was visited by the policeman Sandeep Byala the following day.

Sanjay called an attendant from the hotel and handed over some money to buy chicken. The attendant told Prabhjot about the incident who told him to return the money.

When the attendant went back to the room Sanjay purportedly slapped him and this led to a heated argument between him and the hotel staff. Mr. Byala, too, joined the argument and allegedly threatened Prabhjot of dire consequences.

Prabhjot informed the police about the incident after which cops reached the spot.

The police said Prabhjot did not file any case and only a non-cognizable report has been filed. They, however, added that no alcohol was found in the blood sample of Mr. Byala during medical examination.
