A resident of Rohini was arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing a call centre owner at his residence in Samaypur Badli on the night of October 19. The accused was apprehended from Haryana, the police said on Tuesday.

Received tip-off

Rahul Rai, a local goon, was arrested after the police received a tip-off about his arrival in Nagaldargu village in Narnaul. “A trap was laid and the accused was nabbed,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rishi Pal. During interrogation, Rahul told the police that he wanted to take over Priyanshu alias Puneet’s call centre business which the victim was operating from his residential building but Priyanshu refused a partnership after which Rahul decided to kill him.

On the night of the incident, Rahul again came to talk to Puneet and his business partner Bittu about the partnership, but the victim vehemently refused. The accused then asked Priyanshu to share the data of his customers. “When the victim refused that too, he stabbed him multiple times in a fit of rage, stole the laptop and other valuables from his house and fled when Bittu raised an alarm,” said Mr. Pal.
