After days of high-voltage drama, the fight between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) founder member Kumar Vishwas and MLA Amanatullah Khan ended in favour of Mr Vishwas.

After almost a three-hour long Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting on Wednesday, the party decided to suspend Mr Khan. In addition to retaining Mr Vishwas, the party also decided on making him the in-charge of Rajasthan, where elections are due next year.

"The PAC has shown disapproval of Amanatullah's statements against Kumar and we have come to a decision to suspend him from the party," Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said after the meeting at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence.

He said that a special committee has been formed to investigate the allegations levied by Mr Khan.

The decision came in the background of Mr Vishwas's statement on Tuesday where he claimed that he will take a "big decision", hinting at leaving the party. He had said if such allegations were made against Mr Kejriwal or Mr Sisodia, Khan would have been kicked out of the party, but in his case everyone is silent.
