Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh moved the Delhi High Court on Tuesday seeking direction to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha to ensure the presence of the Prime Minister in Parliament and reply to questions related to public interest.

A similar petition was moved by suspended AAP MLA Kapil Mishra seeking direction to the L-G and Delhi Assembly Speaker to ensure presence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Assembly.

Mr. Singh’s petition has also pleaded for the Lok Sabha Speaker to take steps to ensure presence of all MPs, including the PM, in Parliament at least 75% of the sittings.

The plea also sought to ascertain feasibility of “no work no pay” for the MPs, if presence is less than 50%.

The HC is likely to take up the petition for hearing on Wednesday.
