Seven held with 427 kg cannabis

: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) seized 427 kg of cannabis from a train that was coming from Odisha. Seven persons were arrested in connection with the case.

The accused have been identified as Balwan Bawariya, Kartar, Vyas Bawaria, Indal, Suresh, Lil Singh and Surajbhan.

CBI tipped off

CBI sources said they had received an input that a consignment of cannabis would be coming from Puri in Odisha on the Purushottam Express.

A trap was laid, and the accused were nabbed.

The sources said the gang was planning to get down at Ghaziabad to escape the police.

They were planning to take the consignment to Haryana, the sources added.— PTI
