The AAP government on Monday told the Delhi High Court that it needed two more months to frame a comprehensive policy with regard to regulating app-based cab aggregators like Ola and Uber.
The government told a Bench of Justice Manmohan that the policy drafted by a court-appointed panel cannot be accepted as it is and that it needed eight weeks to formulate a policy keeping in mind the needs of the Capital.
The court, meanwhile, asked the Centre about its stand after the counsel for Ola and Uber said the issue would be taken up in Parliament.
The court was hearing pleas moved by radio taxi operators against Ola and Uber cabs plying without licence.
Earlier, the Bench had asked both companies not to indulge in surge pricing. However, the Radio Taxi Association alleged that they had violated the undertaking submitted to the court.
The matter will now come up on April 17.
