The Delhi Police have over the past few days arrested four persons, including a Nigerian national, for their alleged involvement in drug trafficking in Delhi and Punjab. The police have recovered a total of 960 grams of heroin and ₹1 crore from the accused.

Acting on two tip-offs, police teams busted a network of drug peddlers supplying heroin.

The police was alerted on May 24 about a man who was to come to a hospital in west Delhi’s Janakpuri. A trap was laid, after which Brijesh Kumar Garg and Nigerian national Ejime David, a resident of Uttam Nagar living in India illegally, were arrested.

“David was supposed to give a consignment to Brijesh. We recovered 260 gm of heroin from them,” said DCP (Crime) Rajesh Deo.

On May 25, the police received information about people coming to Nanaksar Gurdwara for supply of heroin. They arrested Hemraj alias Shera and associate Nitu alias Nikka and recovered 700 gm of heroin from them.
