31 more dengue cases in Delhi

Total number of cases so far this season goes up to 233

The Capital reported 31 fresh cases of dengue on Monday taking the total number of cases to 233 this season. According to figures released by Delhi Municipal Corporations, all the 12 zones, except the Sadar Paharganj zone, in the jurisdiction of South, North and East Delhi Municipalities recorded dengue cases.

‘No deaths’

“No deaths were reported on Monday. Of the 233 cases, three originated from outside the Capital.

A young girl had died due to dengue last month,” according to data released by the Municipalities.

Last year, the city registered 216 cases of dengue, including eight originating from outside, and three deaths.

In 2010, there were 4,108 cases, including 24 from outside, and five deaths while the figures for 2009 were 29 dengue cases and no deaths.

In 2008, there were 550 dengue cases and two deaths.
