Three persons, including a woman, were arrested in neighbouring Nuh for allegedly kidnapping a minor Dalit girl and converting her to Islam. The girl had gone missing from Faridabad this past month.

The 13-year-old Dalit girl had left home after an altercation with her mother on April 4. The girl met the accused woman, Farzana, a Punhana resident, while she was waiting for a train at Kosi Kalan railway station.

The woman took the girl along to her parent’s house in Bhopal and returned to her village in Singar at Nuh on April 20.

Farzana allegedly gave the girl a Muslim name and also forced her to offer namaz . The woman allegedly had plans to sell her off to 70-year-old Islam for ₹40,000.

The matter came to light when Farzana’s brother-in-law Tahir allegedly tried to force himself on the girl in the woman’s absence. When Farzana returned, she went to Tahir to raise her objection, but he allegedly beat her up.

Farzana to filed a complaint against Tahir and told the police that the girl was her daughter. However, the behaviour of the girl caused suspicion and the woman spilled the beans when the police interrogated her.

Later, a case was registered against Farzana, Tahir and Islam.
