25-year-old techie gunned down in Noida

A software engineer was gunned down just a couple of kilometres away from his residence in Sector-76 here on Monday. Ankit Chauhan (25), who was working at Tata Consultancy Services, was driving back home with a friend after meeting his wife at her workplace in Sector-135.

The victim, who was driving an SUV, was overtaken by a car in Sector-76 and forced to stop. A man stepped out of the car and fired at Ankit, said Rajkumar Mishra, Noida Police’s Circle Officer-3rd (City). The victim’s friend, who was in the passenger seat, was unhurt.

“He was declared brought dead at Kailash Hospital. We have registered a case of murder against two persons,” said Mr. Mishra.

The police are investigating all angles. The victim’s friend said Ankit did not appear to have any enmity.
