A 25-year-old man was shot dead by two persons on a motorcycle while walking home from his shop in North-West Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar on Tuesday night.
The police suspect enmity to be the motive behind the murder and claim to have gathered clues about the killers.
No arrests yet
However, no arrests had been made till this report was filed.
The victim, Amit Kumar, was a native of Jhajjar in Haryana.
He lived with his sister in Mukherjee Nagar and had opened a shop in partnership with his brother-in-law.
Amit had moved to Delhi over a year ago following a dispute in his family.
The police said that preliminary investigation had revealed that he had relocated because of a threat to his life after his cousin’s murder about two years ago.
Amit himself was killed while passing through Indira Colony in Mukherjee Nagar. The assailants intercepted him and rained bullets on him.
Though six bullets were fired at him, he was hit once in the chest. The assailants sped away even as Amit collapsed on the road.
He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.
