Two men died and as many were hurt in a fire that broke out at a paint factory in Naiwala, Karol Bagh, on Friday. A senior officer of Delhi Fire Service said they got a call around 6.30p.m. and eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

The fire was doused in 30 minutes and two bodies were recovered. It is suspected that they died of suffocation, the officer said.

Two persons, who suffered 40% burns, are currently admitted to RML hospital, he said.

The two-floor building is semi-residential and commercial. A drum containing car polish was found in a shed on the second floor and it is suspected that the fire spread rapidly due to it, the officer said.

It is suspected that the fire started due to a short-circuit.
