Work on preparing project report for storm water drain in added areas of Coimbatore begins

Draft report of survey will be placed before the public for their opinion

The work to prepare the detailed project report for constructing storm water drain in added areas of the Coimbatore Corporation got off to a start in Kuniamuthur on Saturday.

Study area

According to a press release that was issued here by the Coimbatore Corporation, Suncon Engineers, the Pune-based engineering company, would conduct the study over a period of eight months covering as much as 151 sq.km. area.

The drain would run for a distance of approximately 750 km in the area that is under consideration.

The Corporation had chosen the company along with the Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services Limited to execute the task.

After the survey has been conducted in the specified area, the Coimbatore Corporation would place the draft report before the public, non-government organisations and experts for their opinion.

Suggestions

After taking into considerations their suggestions, the Corporation would ask the contract-company to prepare the final report.

At the inauguration, Mayor S.M. Velusamy, Commissioner G. Latha and other officials were present.
