City Police have announced a list of places where outstation vehicles could be parked and traffic management plans for the five days.
City Police Commissioner, C. Sylendra Babu said that normal life will be ensured, shops will remain open and traffic flow will be maintained as usual.
Those from Coimbatore City and its peripheral areas wanting to witness the conference could reach the Coimbatore Medical College grounds and park their vehicles and from there they could walk it up to the conference pandal which is 500 m away.
While returning, the participants could take the same route or proceed via Thaneerpandal Road.
The main arterial roads such as Avanashi Road, Tiruchi Road, Pollachi Road, Mettuppalayam Road, Palakkad Road, Perur Road and Sathyamangalam Road will be available for normal traffic flow.
Motorists entering Coimbatore and leaving Coimbatore could use these roads.
On June 23 alone, during the procession of floats from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., traffic restrictions will be there on Avanashi Road however arrangements will be made for movement of fire and rescue service vehicles and ambulances besides those in urgency for boarding a flight at the Airport.
On the first day of the conference on June 23 alone, those bound for Airport and coming from Airport could use the SIHS Colony Road and Tiruchi Road avoiding Avanashi Road. Police will guide and help the airport bound passengers and those coming from there to reach Tiruchi Road to proceed further to their destinations.
On the other days of the conference, there will not be any major traffic restrictions. The arrangements will hold good on the valediction day i.e., on Sunday as well.
Vehicles from Chennai, Kancheepuram, Thiruvallur, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Villuppuram, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal and Erode districts on crossing Karumathampatti could come upto Thennampalayam and take a turn and reach Kalappatti and could use the parking lots from Kalapatti to SITRA and then walk up to the conference venue.
Similarly, the vehicles from Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Thanjavur, Tiruchirapalli, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Cuddalore, Puducherry, Karur districts could come via Kangeyam, Palladam, Sulur and take the L&T Bypass road to reach Neelambur and from there they could come up to Government Polytechnic and park their vehicles there and then walk up to the conference venue.
Similarly vehicles from Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Virudhunagar, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Madurai, Theni, Dindigul districts could take the Pollachi, Eachanari road and take the L&T bypass road near Karpagam College and reach Avanashi Road.
The vehicles could be parked at the parking space behind the Government Polytechnic. Vehicles from Udhagamandalam, Mettuppalayam and Sathyamgangalam could come via Annur park their vehicles at Annur.
Mr.Sylendra Babu said that the procession of floats could be witnessed by the people from VOC Park to Hope College on either side of the road.
The floats will wind their way on one side of Avanashi Road and arrangements are being made for the public to view the floats procession from the other side of the Avanashi Road by standing across the median.
To reach Avanashi Road for witnessing the procession, people could use Lakshmi Mill – Puliakulam Road, Nava India Road, Ranga Vilas Mills – GV Residency Road, Sowripalayam Road and Masakkalipalayam Road.
People from places other than Coimbatore could reach Tiruchi Road and take any of the above said roads to reach Avanashi Road for witnessing the procession of floats.
