A National Intelligence Agency (NIA) team from Kerala has reportedly secured a man suspected to be a SIMI terrorist from the Central Sub Division in Coimbatore City about six days ago for questioning in connection with a couple of cases.

The city police said that they were informed by the team that they were on the lookout for the suspect. However, they were neither aware of the identity of the man nor the cases in which he was involved.

There were unconfirmed reports from the State intelligence agency that the 38-year-old man was involved in an attack on a professor in Kerala in 2009.
