August 23, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:25 am IST - COIMBATORE:

Around 20 students of a private agriculture college at Vellore petitioned the authorities in the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University on Monday asking for suspension of the ‘braking’ system.

Sources familiar with the issue said that the students said that they be allowed to write arrear examinations till the completion of the course and not be restricted to complete the arrear examination within a year.

At present, the University had put in place a system where students who have failed in examinations should clear the arrears within the next academic year.

After submitting the petitions to Dean-Agriculture and Dean-Engineering, the students left the campus.
